Chichester Racquets & Fitness Club has 5 squash courts, one of which is glass backed with
a seated viewing area. |
Racketball is essentially very similar to squash, but played with a bigger, bouncier ball and a heavier, shorter racket. The bouncier ball makes it easier to retrieve and therefore the rallies are generally longer - though less wearing on the joints because the game is slightly slower. The sport provides a good aerobic workout, is easier for the beginner to pick up and makes for an interesting combination of tactics, concentration, stamina and skill. Interest in Racketball grew at the Chichester Club with the success of Tim Vail who became National Champion in 2001, 2002 and 2005 and who also released his own signature line of rackets. The Club now has its own Racketball section, with teams and internal leagues and this year launched the official Championship with an entry of 32.
Another
sport here at Chichester with internal leagues and a Club Championship.
Our Head Squash Coach, Mike Phillips, is also a qualified table tennis
coach. |
